Valentine’s Day has created a mass of literature, movies, music and, of course, TV episodes. For those who don’t have the time to dedicate to a two-hour long movie (or are looking for something shorter for that V-Day “Netflix and chill” session), here are a few Valentine’s Day-related TV episodes that will please hopeless romantics and even the Valentine’s Day cynics.

The One With the Unagi” — Friends

“Friends” has quite a collection of Valentine’s Day episodes, including “The One With the Candy Hearts” and “The One With the Birthing Video,” but this episode follows Chandler and Monica’s hijinks as they both forget to get each other Valentine’s Day presents. Meanwhile, Ross tries to convince Rachel and Phoebe that they don’t have the mental awareness for “unagi.” It’s an unforgettable episode to curl up and watch with your “lobster.”

Written in the Stars” — Gilmore Girls

While not technically a Valentine’s Day episode, “Written in the Stars” is absolutely one of the most romantic, adorable, insert-your-superlative-here episodes of “Gilmore Girls.” After years of pining, Luke and Lorelai finally get together. Their cuteness and the hilarity of what happens when Stars Hollow finds out is superb for some cozy Valentine’s Day viewing. And, as a bonus, this episode marks the first time Rory meets future beau Logan.

In Name and Blood” — Criminal Minds

This episode aired in October, not February, and isn’t particularly romantic or heartwarming—perfect for those who want nothing to do with Valentine’s Day this year. The “Criminal Minds” profiling team tracks down a serial killer who’s cutting out women’s hearts, so the ideal episode for those who are disgusted by this Hallmark holiday or have recently also experienced the sensation of having their heart (metaphorically) ripped out. -MZ
