The first two matches against Omaha were close, but Denver won the battle for both of them before breaking away in the third game to sweep Omaha 25-21, 29-27, 25-14.

Due to Piyusha Boteju’s (Euless, Texas) injury, Monique Domme (Colorado Springs, Colorado) was the only setter, recording 31 assists. Moni Currujedo (El Paso, Texas) and Sarah Schmid (Highlands Ranch, Colorado) led Denver with seven kills each.

The win against Omaha means that Denver now leads the Summit League with a 6-1 league record and an 18-4 overall record. The Pioneers also now have a five game winning streak.

The Pioneers’ next game is versus Oral Roberts University at the Hamilton Gymnasium at 2 p.m. on Oct. 16.
