Notable members of the Burgundy team included Matt Duchene, Semyon Varlamov and Jarome Iginla. Gabriel Landeskog, Calvin Pickard and Alex Tanguay spearheaded the White team. Varlamov and Pickard are the two main goaltenders for the team, while Iginla, Landeskog, Tanguay and Duchene were the leading scorers during last season.

The White team dominated the game from the very beginning.

Their first goal, however, didn’t come until the last 30 seconds of the first period when Nathan MacKinnon passed the puck to Tanguay, who was able to sneak it past goalie Varlamov.

The second period began at a much faster pace.

Within five minutes, the White team scored again. This time, it was Mikko Rantanen who earned the goal over Varlamov.

The assist came from Nikita Zadorov and Gabriel Landeskog. Rantanen, who had a very impressive showing, being a recent Avalanche draft pick.
Rantanen’s performance showed that he has a lot to add to the team in the rapidly-approaching season.

In the third period, Jack Skille scored for the Avalanche White team, making the score 3-0 in the White team’s favor.
The Burgundy then finally got on the board after a successful shot from Joey Hishon.

There were only three minutes remaining in the game when Hishon scored, which was not enough time for the Burgundy to make a comeback.

The final score of the scrimmage game was 3-1, with the White team taking away the victory.

“There’s a lot I see that I like. We like our depth. We’re happy where we are,” said head coach Patrick Roy in the press box after the game.
The Colorado Avalanche’s 20th season officially begins on Oct. 8 when they are set to host the Minnesota Wild. The game will take place at the Pepsi Center.
