Following three days of tournament play, DU finished tied with Colorado State University for a 19th place finish at 33 strokes over-par at The Goodwin Tournament in Palo Alto, California. The Pioneers were one of 24 teams to participate in the tournament.
The Pioneers had performed well enough to sit in 15th place after the first round.

In the final standings, DU placed two strokes ahead of in-state rival, University of Colorado.

Sophomore Petter Mikalsen (Stavanger, Norway) was DU’s most impressive golfer through three days at the par 70 Stanford Golf Course, scoring an even par of 210. Mikalsen had his best round on the final day of the tournament and shot 1-under par. He also finished in a team-best 24th place.

There seems to be plenty of reason for optimism going forward. Fellow Freshman Chris Korte (Littleton, Colorado), who hails from the same high school as Jake Kelley (Littleton, Colorado) earned the Summit League Men’s Golfer of the Week honor a few weeks ago.
