Being away at college can certainly leave one missing the most important ladies in his or her life—moms, grandmas, aunts and sisters. Fortunately, DU’s “Mom’s & Grandmother’s Weekend” is right around the corner, scheduled for Feb. 20 through Feb. 22. Events on the schedule include teas, tours, a hockey game and even a ski bus to Vail.

DU alternates between Mom’s & Grandmother’s Weekend and Dad’s and Grandfather’s weekends every year, so make sure not to miss out, especially if you are a 3rd or 4th year student. This is a great chance to not only show off our beautiful and esteemed University, but also to show your mom and grandma that you appreciate them, especially if you can’t see them for mother’s day.

The weekend begins with a reception in the Driscoll Gallery followed by several events throughout the day, including a painting event put on by Canvas and Cocktails, tea at the Brown Palace, chocolate tasting, a historic tour of DU and more.

The second day includes a ski bus to Vail, a bus tour of Denver, and a hockey game at Magness arena, along with several teas and other events. The final day is then composed of a tasty breakfast, tours and a chance to pack items donated to the troops.

Participants are invited to take part in whichever events they like, with prices ranging from $0 to $40. Registration opened on January 10, so make sure to sign up. The event is a month and a half away, so there’s still plenty of time to plan a trip. A complete list of events, times and prices can be found on the Parent and Family Relations website at http://www.du.edu/studentlife/parents/events/.
