After a pair of high-scoring games in last week’s series against Vermont, the Pioneers traveled to Columbus, Ohio for their first road series of the season.

The next night, Ohio State goalie Cal Heeter posted his first career shutout, leading the Buckeyes to a 4-0 win over the Pioneers in Nationwide Arena.

The loss gave Denver their second consecutive split series and gave the Buckeyes their first win of the season.

In his fifth career start Heeter stopped all 39 DU shots that came his way. Pioneer goalie Adam Murray ended up with 22 saves, but surrendered three of the four Ohio State goals.

Both goalies were different from the ones goaltenders that started in the first game of the series.
